Dear All,
I am having the issue with Java not starting in ABAPJAVA in a Unix box.Through dumps seemed to be gateway error re-started gateway even rebooted the box but that did not help.Changed the parameter gw/reg_keepalive to 0 but that also didnt help. All this started when i was restarted ABAPJAVA due to some swaps issue. The ABAP came up but JAVA has problem since then.This is what we have from the trace.

I have tried almost everything what i could find regarding this issue from the forum.
But still issue there exists unanswered in the forum also.
One more thing i find is that every time i start java alone or both Abap+java the logs for java are not updating.
Kindly check the same and help me resolve the same.

Hi,
If you have less memory available on server , then you can reduce 2048M to 1024M.

Hi Atul,
As per your bootstrap log , my solution will be as below
Your system is running on HP-UX IA64 platform
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (Hewlett-Packard Company)where the HEAP memory set is 256M
heap size : 256M
arg[ 10]: -Xmx256Mwhich is creating problem while starting the java application.
So do the following for resolving the problem
Change all the parameter as below.
-Xmx2048m
-Xms2048m
-XX:NewSize=320m
-XX:MaxNewSize=320m
-XX:PermSize=512m
-XX:MaxPermSize=512m
Pls refer note :- 723909 , which will help to understand the parameter inmportance.
Let us know the status , if problem still exits we can dig it more

In the above trace i would like to clarify that "Dsmwebas.home=/home/bc7adm/CA/webasagent/sapwebas/conf/SmWebAsSSO.conf" was added to java parameter in Config tool. And after that only java was restarted and it came up fine.But next day when ABAP+JAVA was restarted JAVA never came up and this is what the trace says. I even removed the paarmeter specified above but than also after restart its showing the above error.
Kindly let us me know that how to delete from bootstrap this parameter if this is causing the problem.

In the above trace i would like to clarify that "Dsmwebas.home=/home/bc7adm/CA/webasagent/sapwebas/conf/SmWebAsSSO.conf" was added to java parameter in Config tool. And after that only java was restarted and it came up fine.But next day when ABAP+JAVA was restarted JAVA never came up and this is what the trace says. I even removed the paarmeter specified above but than also after restart its showing the above error.
Kindly let us me know that how to delete from bootstrap this parameter if this is causing the problem.

Hi Atul,
Parameter Seems ok.
Just follow the below procedure and paste the std_server0.out log.
1. Completely stop JAVA instance.
2. goto work directory and rename and std_server0.out file.
3. Now start java instance wait for few minutes.
4. check is there any error in std_server0.out.
if yes, there is an error , then paste that error in forum.

It appears that the RFC connection is not completing successfully due to missing authorizations in one of the java users. Please check if any java roles were removed/modified between the successfull restart and failed restart.
Please try the below:
1) Log into configtool and check the secure store configuration to confirm the user being used. It will be in the field
admin/user/<SID>
2) Check that this user is not locked and has all the authorizations.
3) If feasible, expand the authorizations for the above user and other java standard users such as java guest.
Then try to startup java. If this works, you can work backwords to arrive at the correct user/authorizations.

the error log which pasted says java stack is not able to connect to gateway instance of Abap stack.
Can you confirm abap stack is up and running.

Hi,
What is the role of system stecrm? Is this a stand alone gateway or is it the gateway from an ABAP system? The last message in the log says failed connection to gateway. Did you try using "telnet stecrm 3300" to test the connection?

Dear Shekar,
I checked for the user SAPJSF at GUI level only and the user is not locked.
And for the other question i has added one parameter in ConfigTool and the value i gave to that was the parameter path.
That was a day before this problem came. I even restarted java when this parameter was added. After this issue i even removed the parameter and tried restarting the java but that also didnt help.
And also the logs are not getting update after restart.

Did you check SAPJSF user in ABAP level using SU01 transaction.
I remeber this was the issue sometime back in our environment and it was due to this user.
I will look at the log meanwhile.

Thus please check the status of SAPJSF user status.
