Hi All,
After I start console and the mount server, when I am starting the server I am getting a problem. The error is
Error Starting hp-discovery server (MDM Server) :
Could not open the service control manager on serveru2019 server nameu2019 / Verify that the current windows user has the correct permissions, and that the target system is a windows based operating system * with a OK button in the popup box which displays error.
When I click on OK the symbol at the server is changed to exclamation in a yellow circle which mean * Sever in invalid state *
I am able to work once I restart the server , but its real pain now as the problem is happening many times in a day.
Would like to know why I am getting this error and a solution for this error.
Thanks
MS

Hello MS Reddy
Sorry, i dont know exacly what do you mean "Discovery Server"
maybe that http://www.intranetjournal.com/tools/cm/Discovery.html
or something else
otherwise
main requirement is: version SAP MDM Server and SAP MDM client applications should be the same.
For example Server has version 5.5.63.00 and MDM Console, Data manager,Import manager and ets should be version 5.5.63.00.
SAP MDM Server can work with different operationm system landscape(Win, Unix, IBM)
more about OS supported SAP MDM you can read from :

Hi Kanstantsin,
Please go through the link to know about the discovery server
We are having server version as 5.5.42.57 and the console , DM, IM,MDIS, Syndicator, MDSS have version 5.5.42.48
But what i feel is if the version is the problem then i should NOT be able to log in into the server even once, but I am able to log in into the server and connect to repository when ever the server is restarted BY BASIS GUYS AT THE LOCAL HOST. The problem arises REMOTELY AT MY SYSTEM when ever I am unmounting the server and then then want to mount the server back I get the problem of which i have mentioned in starting of the thread.
Thanks,
MS

Hi,
When you start MDM server, the OS internally starts a windows service. So check for the respective - mds.ini running in your Task Manager or SAP MDM * running in Windows Services.
With the error msg, I guess the OS user you are using to login to your server/desktop does not have enough permission to start a windows service.
So assign Administrator priviledge to your OS account and relogin.
Regards.
