Hello All~
Does E-Sourcing have any from of data archiving for expired contract documents?
Thanks
Hi Elizabeth
We had a similar issue and I have clarified this with SAP
There is no such thing possible as Archiving similar to what we do in the ABAP side using transaction SARA
Here is what we need to do
The u201CCloseu201D menu option in the Document dropdown available in the toolbar. If you use this u201Ccloseu201D or the u201Ccancelu201D, it removes the RFx/Contract from the active list and is not displayed to the user. There are standard queries that allow you to review RFxu2019s/Contracts that have been closed or cancelled.
The bebefit is that they are removed from the active lists.
Master Agreements, Auctions and Projects also have the same u201Ccloseu201D or u201Ccancelu201D options.
Where are these documents maintained the ones that are closed or cancelled
The documents are maintained in the same database. They are not removed. But this removes these documents from being u201Cactiveu201D and from the queries that bring back active and current documents. These enables the business documents to continue to be u201Creport-ableu201D and u201Cquery-ableu201D but to not clutter up the usersu2019 active worklists
If you actually want to archive the documents, you probably need to do some workarounds in the database for purging and archiving.
Your DBA will be able to throw more light on this.
We are also going to try the similar approach
Hope this helps
Regards
Tridip
