Netweaver permanent license key

hi experts,

i installed netweaver java j2ee server for running portal. after one month the j2ee engine is not starting, it says license check failed.

i tried getting the license from SAP MP. it is asking for hardware key, tell me where to find it ?

i need it urgently, please help ans also tell me how to obtain the license key and apply it.

You can find hardware key from OS level. Login at OS level with user <sid>adm and run command saplicense -get

It will show you hardware key.

Since your license is expired then install temporary license from OS level by running command saplicense -temp. When you will run this command it will ask you about the System ID. Enter the system ID then it will install temporary license. Start the system.

After that apply permanent license from Visual Administrator. Go to /usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/j2ee/admin and run go command.

Go to Service Licensing Adapter and install permanent license that you got from service market place.

If you don't have any other user then activate emergency user as per below link and then reset the password:

hi,

i tried to login with different passwords, the adm user got locked.

i dont know the j2ee_admin default password. is there any way to reset the two passwords.

kindly help.

meanwhile i forgot the adm password for the portal. is there any way to reset it and login to the visual administrator.
