Hi,

We are just planning to go for SAP. Vendors suggesting Blade servers on IBM and HP.

BOM

1 . Production : Linux -> Db2 - > SAP application

2. Cluster for Production

3. QA/ Development -> Linux

4. Backup server - > Linux

5. BI/BO - win 2008 for prod and Dev.

6. Storage

7 IT manage servers 2

Linux : Suse Linux

aprox. initial licenses are 75 can increase to 200 next 3 years.

Question : Hardware partners are conflicting each other on RAC and Blade S technology on the above combination when implementing cluster on production when blade is considered.

You use DB2 - and the vendor insists on RAC? RAC is an option for Oracle.

Using DB2. not oracle RAC.

Issue is Blade technology not support Cluster in this environment for linux

only Intel RAC can provide clustering on linux.

Just need clarification of what technology need to be adapted ? Blade servers or RAC server when clustering on linux with SAP and DB2 combination.

Thanks for reply.

This depends on what "Cluster" software you are talking about.

Sorry for sounding silly - but what is Intel RAC? Googling that does not lead to any results...
