JSPM Patch - error in JSPM_MAIN phase

Former Member

Hello everybody,

i cannot patch the JAVA Engine of my NW04s System ABAP + JAVA because of a SDM Problem.

Server: Linux, DB = Maxdb.

java version "1.4.2"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 2.2)

IBM J9SE VM (build 2.2, J2RE 1.4.2 IBM J9 2.2 Linux amd64-64 j9xa64142-20061124 (JIT enabled)

J9VM - 20061121_1035_LHdSMr

JIT - r7_level20061020_1803)

The ABAP Patches for this Stack i have already installed.

I start the patching of STACK 20 through JSPM but i cannot beginn: the SDM Server is not started.

Then i tried to start it with the command:

./StartServer.sh

but it doesn´start after 600 seconds wait time.

I changed the SDM Mode in Standalone and started it, so i could start the JSPM Patching too.

But during the deployment the JSPM generate the error:

"An error has occured during the execution of the JSPM_MAIN phase.

java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException: null

You can find more information.....

Use the information provided to trouble-shoot the problem. There might be an OSS note providing a solution to this problem.
Search for OSS notes with the following search terms:

com.sap.sdt.jspm.phases.PhaseTypeJSPM

com.sap.sdt.util.diag.JavaException

java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException: null

JSPM_MAIN

JSPMPhases

Java Support Package Manager"

ERROR: could not estabilish connection to server at port 51018. Verbindungsaufbau abgelehnt.

In Standalone modus i can start the SDM Server and the login in SDM through Remote Gui is successfully.

Definitively i can start SDM Patching through JSPM only if SDM = standalone, but the patching shuts down during the deployment.

Hi,

Please note below points:

1) You should not set SDM in standalone mode. Set it in integrated mode only. Whenever J2EE engine need SDM in standalone mode it will do automatically during patching. So, set SDM back in integrated mode.

2) As per your log SDM is trying to connect on port 50118. Change the port to 50018 and then try.

If your SDM will show same error on this port then stop SDM of your solman system as it is on same server and using the same port. Then try again.

Hello Sunny,

thanks for your reply.

<bp>

The SDM port for my NW04s is 51018 and not 50118. <bp>

The SDM port for my Solution Manager is 50018. <bp>

Why do i have to change the port of my SDM NW04s (EB1 on 51018) System into the port of the SDM Solman (50018)? <bp>

Is it possible to have two separate SDM Server running simultaneously on the same Server each on its own port? <bp>

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

with remote gui, you can run from other server.

Also, please make sure that port 51018 is free.

Thanks

Hello Sunny,

the error was in the parameter: jstartup/instance_properties.

It must be set to $(jstartup/j2ee_properties):$(jstartup/sdm_properties).

thanks, problem solved.
