There isn't a whole lot to Freely Programmed Value Help. You create a custom WD Component like any normal WD Component. The main difference is that your component will have the interface IWD_VALUE_HELP. The main feature of the interface is the component controller method SET_VALUE_HELP_LISTENER which will provide you access to the source context element and attribute that generated the value help (and also how you write values back into the source context). After that everything else is within your control to design and build.
