what is SAP Netweaver 2004s?

Hi gurus,

well I Know this questions sounds really stupid but well i am a beginner in SAP Basis. I am supposed to install SAP BI quality and XI development system on AIX. Now i am confused to identify what is sap netweaver. When i see in my BI system Development status i find that the component version is SAP Netweaver 2004s. Now while checking the installation guides i find that there is one SAP Netweaver 2004s and SAP netweaver BI 7.0.

Can u help me in distinguioshing between the two and also what should i use for SAP BI and SAP XI.

Hi Priya,

This question is very basic and if you are a beginner, then i recommend you stop doing installations and start reading documents.

Well for now, an broad answer for your question though it may not help you.

SAP Netweaver is a platform on which all products such as BI, XI, EP etc are integrated.

If you have SAP Netweaver 2004s, then you can install any or all the products stated above.

Ok. So that means i would have to install SAP Netweaver 2004s.

But how do i differentiate between XI 7.0 And BI 7.0 ie how do i make them XI And BI?

Hi Priya,

The installation process will ask you which product you want to install.

So you need not differentiate between PI and BI.
