SAPHostAgent - Installation

Dear all,

We have installed Diagnostics Agent 711 in our managed system.

In the "Diagnostics Agent 7.11 - Setup Guide", in the "Installation Process", a step is to "Install the SAP Host Agent".

I have the following information :

You only need to install the host agent in the following cases :

■ You want to centrally monitor a host that does not have an SAP component.

■ You want to perform an upgrade to the SAP NetWeaver 7.1 for an SAP NetWeaver component.

What does mean this condition or this case :

You want to centrally monitor a host that does not have an SAP component ???

What does mean PRECISELY "a host that not have an SAP Component" ?

Does SAPHostAgent replace the SAPCCMSR.99 ?

What does mean PRECISELY "a host that not have an SAP Component" ?

This means a server with no SAP product installed like Netweaver, ERP, BO, etc. this will send information to a CCMS to get info on a system related to a SAP system in terms of Business Processes.

What Kernel version your system uses? or what SAP Component you have installed?

Do you have to install SAP HOSTAgent on NW7.0 or NW 7.01 systems to use the Diagnostics Agent 7.11 or is it better to use the SR3 SMD Diadnostics Agent?
