Hello -
We encounter a problem with our livecache after a cluster switch
the db is not usable anymore
symptons:
dbmcli -U c db_start
ERR
-24783,ERR_WRONGDBSTATE: Operational state ONLINE of the database
instance is unsuitable.
-24782,ERR_DBSTATENEEDED1: Database instance must be in operational
state OFFLINE.
but when:
x_cons LSC show all
SERVERDB: LSC
The SERVERDB state is OFFLINE
So it seems the effective state is offline, while all tools (incl LC10) thinks it's online
when trying to bring it down with db_offline or with LC10, we get:
dbmcli on LSC>db_offline
ERR
-24994,ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error
1,database not accesssible: pipe open (6:N
Any ideas ??
thanks
Paul

Without knowing the filesystem setup and an OS it's unlikely that we will be able to help.
I suggest you open an OSS call so the support can have an immediate look onto your system.

any critical objects in here maybe that could cause this problem ?
is there a way to force the db to have state offline ?

Hello Paul,
What is OSS ticket number?
Additional information is needed to get clear on the reported issue:
1. Did you run sdbverify as root ?
2. Please post the output of the commands:
dbmcli u2013s inst_enum
dbmcli u2013s db_enum
ps u2013efe | grep kernel
ps u2013efe | grep sdb
3. Please review SAP Note No. 803452.
Did you set up the directories in <independent_data_path> as share directories?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
Hello,
dbmcli -d LSC -s inst_enum
OK
7.7.04.29 /sapdb/LSC/db
7.7.04.29 /sapdb/LSC/sapdata1/db
strange that it gives 2 lines ?
dbmcli -d LSC -s db_enum
OK
