You simply set the parameter (either at the application level or globally via WD_GLOBAL_SETTINGS). There are no other options or settings. Animation will be used automatically. The effect is not drastic. Basically the window shrinks instead of just disappearing when closed. The animation is pretty fast on my computer, so it is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it.
