E-Filing (UK) polling limit

When sending documents to the Government Gateway via E-Filing (SAP ERP6 & PI 7.1), automatic polling is configured to have 3 polling attempts.

Sometimes this isn't enough and we don't get the full response back.

I know the Government Gateway doesn't perform great during busy times, but it's vital to get the full response if a document has failed to upload successfully.

Does anyone know where this polling limit of 3 is set? It's not on the communication channel. Is it a PI config setting (SXMB_ADM) and if so, is it global, or specific to the http adapter? Don't tell me it's in the HR ABAP surely not?!

Hi Ben,

Check the HTTP Connections to External Server Type G for the RFC Destination. The Time out usvally set as "ICM Default Timeout". There are other two options No Timeout or Specify Timeout. The Timeout in milli seconds From 1 to 9999999.

For your requirement you can choose Specify Timeout and keep appropriate time within the limit.
