GRC PC/RM 3.0: Database connection error for Crystal Reports

Former Member

Hello,

When I try to use the report in GRC PRocess Control (or RM) 3.0 I'm getting the following Error message:

"Error in File GRPC_xxxx: Database Connector Error".

See screenshot:

I have used the mass update tool but reports are not updated and appear as "fail"

See screenshot:

Here is what the configuration for a specific report looks like in BOE:

Does anyone manage to make it work successfuly ?

Thanks for your help.

Jérôme.

Hello Jérôme,

the "mass update" has to finish successfully for the Crystal Reports to function properly!

Maybe you could check you Portal logs (default trace) and obtain a detailed error/exception description from there relating to the "mass update"?

One issue I do know is that the password should contain numbers only e.g. a password like "12345678" since there was a bug that converted the password to upper-case (which it cannot if it's numbers only)...

Other than that you need to check your connection from the Portal to the BusinessObjects Enterprise server - the System Object in the Portal System Config. Please verify host names, ports client number etc - see here on page 38 for details:

Cheers,

Dominic

Thanks a lot for your answer and the very helpful document.

I find out the issue, I was using the logon group "PUBLIC" which was not available (tcode SMLG) and then I changed it to SPACE and it works.
