installing 2 instances in the same server

Hi

We have Netweaver 7.0 ehp1. I want to install EP(asjava,ep,epcore) and TREX in the same server with windows paltform.

Can i give 2 usr folder drive locations for the 2 instances?

Beacause the java engine failes some times when we apply the java patches. I have to restore from the backup. including the usr folder and database.

If i install 2 instances in the same server when i restore the usr folder it is effecting the another instance also

can any body tell me the exact procedure to install 2 instances in the same box.

If sometimes you have to restore usr folder because of Java patches then restore only /usr/sap/<SID> of that particular system. And it will not effect other system in same usr folder.

No, while installation sub directory will be created in usr folder for new SID.

example /usr/DEV, /usr/QAS etc
