Hi All,

I am new to MDM and trying to install MDM7.1 on 32bit windowsXP machine but failed at the starting stage like when i double clicked on sapinstgui.exe it was asking me to give Server name and port.I had given the server name but port was 21212 as default and tried but it was giving me error saying could not able to connect server...

Can anyone suggest me regarding this.

And moreover do i need 64bit windowsOS to install MDM7.1 and is it monadatory?

Thanks,

Kalyan.

Hi Kalyan,

Also MDM 7.1 supports only 64-bit databases...

At least the database client must be 64 bit.

Hi Kalyan,

Windows XP OS is not supported for the installation of MDM server.

You should only go for either Windows Server 2003/2008.

Check the PAM (Product Availability Matrix) for detailed information.

http://service.sap.com/pam

Further, SAP recommends only 64 bit moving further for any new installations.
