PSAPSR3- Database Growth unusually

Dear All

in our SAP XI - Oracle 10g database, shows an unusuall grownt comparing to lats cople of months .. if you see the following growth which i extracted through DB13 , comparing to the last severel months it shows that tablespace "PSAPSR3" has increased morethan 2 folds..

can some one tell me some clue on how to find the reason for this ??

You need to check which objects grow the most. You can use DB02 -> Segments -> Detailed Analysis to see that.

In a XI system the tables are most probably SXMSCLUP and SXMSCLUR. They contain the message data. If that is true in your case, then you need to verify that old messages are reorganised correctly. This can be verified in SXMB_MONI, and configured in SXMB_ADMIN.

You may want to check DB14 for data file additions. Was there any upgrade to system since 30.09.09?

also it seems to be reduced on 31.07.2009. May be you can check with BRTOOLS/db level. While investigating this I would keep eye on disk space too.

i ran the report RSXMB_SHOW_REORG_STATUS ..following are the results ..does this something to do witht the growth of SAPSR3?

Hi Nawa,

Please check if you have scheduled Archiving and Deletion Jobs and if scheduled, check whether they are running successfully.

If you not scheduled the Archiving and Deletion Jobs, then db growth is quite obivious.

I have one over 24 GB
