Dear Experts,

I want to change coding mask " -0000-0-0-0000-0" to "-0000-0-00-0000-0", occurs below information,

Can you tell me how to do?

Cannot make this change to the editing mask (see long text)

Diagnosis

You want to change an existing coding mask, or want to create a new mask and have chosen a key for which a coding mask already exits.

You can only change existing masks as follows:

You can change a numeric section to an alpahmumeric section of the same length.

You can extend the coding mask with an alphanumeric section.

System Response

The function was not executed.

Procedure

Change the coding mask as described above or create a new coding mask with a key that does not yet exist.

As you wanted to existing coding mask, that is possible with only increase in the lenth of mask from righ side. ( Inc between structure you only change from numeric to alphanumeric section ) i.e .0000-0-0-0000-0" to "-0000-0-00-0000-0 is not possible

0000-0-0-0000-0" to "-XXXX-X-X-XXXX-X or 0000-0-0-0000-0-XXX is possible.

If it is feasible, request you to created approprite new coding mask suting to your requirement rather than changing existing one.

hi merry,

easiest to do is following:

- delete the coding mask 0000-0-0-0000-0

- save

- configure the coding mask again -0000-0-00-0000-0

if you have error that says wbs elements exists with the coding mask, you need to delete/rename all wbs elements / project definitions that contain the coding mask...

if its too tedious, better yet, use a different mask ID...

however, if really necessary, it can be done.
