wrong results of formula in inspection characteristics

Hello,

I have an issue regarding the wrong calculation of my formula that i have used in MIC. The settings in the MIC "calculate formula" is marked and results are still not correct.

Dear Trek

This is due to rounding of only and the 50 is .025 is getting rounded off to .03

You may have to go with 3 decimal points

Thanks for the inputs guys, the issue i have surpass the issue about my error "Not all calculation input characs. in the formula have been valuated".i can save now the characteristcs recording in my inspection lot, the issue now is the result of the formula,im getting the result of .02 instead of .03. And in the character, am getting the .03 instead of .02. I have tried changing the decimal places from 2 to 3 for all the characters involve in the formula yet still i can get the correct value.A good example of this is:

10 79.50 - 80.50% assuming result is 79.95

20 79.50 - 80.50% assuming result is 80.00

50 (C00020+C00010)/2

60 C00050-C00010

70 C00060-C00020

Where as in the values for 60 sould be .03 but result is .02

Where as in the values for 70 sould be -.02but result is .03

Is it deal with rounding off numbers?

Hello Gajesh,

I got the error "Not all calculation input characs. in the formula have been valuated". Scenario is like this, i have used the formula (C00010+C00020)/2 = C00030 where as i needed result should be for example is .03 but the result is .02. I have tried changing the decimal points and still i'm getting error for the value.

If that is the error you are getting then it means that one or more of the characteristics used in the calcuation, (i.e. the input characteristics, 0010 and 0020), are not valuated and closed.

Please make sure all the results recording is complete on characteristics 0010 and 0020. Make sure those two characteristics have a status of "5" on them. This indicates that they have been locked.

can you kindly describe the issue with an example. what is the value that you input and what is your expected result. whether you are using single recording or summarised recording ?

Yes it is...That's the formula i have used (co0010 + co00020)/2 where as the co0010 and co0020 are also part of the characteristics..

Formula i have used is (A+B)/2 where as A and B are characteristics. Is there an OSS note to correct the issue?Or why could be the reason why the behaviour of the system is calculating the wrong results for the formula?
