Backing up a single data file

Hi All,

I have run a backup to a tape which has run sucessfully. However, all datafiles have been backup except 3.

2 of them belong to SYSAUX tablespace and 1 datafile belongs to PSAPUNDO tablespace.

Is there any way to backup these individual datafiles onto a tape using DD ?

Of a total of 112 datafiles, 109 are backed up sucessfully and then brbackup arbuptly ended.

I want to know whether is there any method to backup the remaining 3 data files.

Please let me know.

Regards,

Hari Kishan

I think you won't be able to completely restore your DB if you don't have whole DB backup. Therefore, best way would be to remove that error and do a complete DB backup again.

Best thing would be to figure out the problem, and solve it. Then start another full backup afterwards.

The least thing you should do is a partial backup with brbackup using the -m option. If for example the files with id 1,2 and 3 were not saved, then use -m 1,2,3

Have you thought about how you are planning recovery just in case. Was this onilne/offline backup?
