Hi Experts,
Is there any way to find out what are the required support packs and/or sap notes after sap installation/configuration is complete other than what is provided in the installation guide? In particular, for SAP PI 7.1, for example, are there any required sap support packs / notes that need to be applied after a new system installation? Can someone please provide a list of important/critical support packs/notes that need to be applied as corrective measure?
Thanks,
Rajan
Hi Rajan,
The latest SP is SP09 & You also have Ehp1 also released.
Refer the Support Package Guide at http://service.sap.com/maintenancenw2004s for further details about the components..

SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 Support Package Stacks - central page: http://service.sap.com/netweaver -> SAP NetWeaver Process Integration 7.1 - Release-Specific Inf -> Support Package Stacks Information
I hope this helps you.

hI Rajan,
I presume you know the importancy of NOTES.
When you are deploying the latest SP08/SP09 in general there won't any need of applying specific note unless you encounter some issue during the SP deployment. If I were to do SP then i will go through the release note to understand the pre-requisistes and procede accordingly.
I hope this helps you.

Thank you, Sekhar.
I understood the importance of SP vs. Notes. If I did not implement SP, then I can apply specific note according to the problem otherwise SP should resolve most common issues. If I was to not apply SP since it may cause unexpected behavior to the components/interfaces, I would go with the Notes specific to the problem but I was curious what are the common issues in PI 7.1 which I can look for notes and apply when necessary.
I will close this thread with this understanding.
Thank you,
Rajan
