solution manager server not started

Hi All,

Solution manager server not started, I have checked the database is running and Listened is also working. But desp+work.exe is Gray mode can any one please help me how solve this issue. I am pasting her the Trace file.

Check your system environment TNS_ADMIN it will probably point to path

C:\usr\sap\<sid>\SYS\profile\oracle

Please check your SQLnet.ora file from E:\oracle\SOL\102\network\admin\.

It is trying to connect on 1521 port & your listener port is 1527. Change the value in sqlnet.ora from 1521 to 1527 & try.

Hi,

Recreate your tnsnames file through the Oracle net client and make sure the port is the same as the listener.

Also make sure you test the DB connection.

Then run R3trans -x will create trans.log in the same place you ran R3trans.

As you are on windows..

You should see from the Start => programs ==> oracle -<your db> ==> Configuration and migration tools ==> NET Configuration assistant.

You will be able to recreate/update tnsnames and test DB connection.

Hi,

Looking at your tnsnames.ora output you had SOL= but what I was expecting was SOL.WORLD

E.g.

SOL.WORLD =

(DESCRIPTION =

(ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = SAP.WORLD)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = xxxxxx)(PORT = xxxx))

(CONNECT_DATA =

(SERVER = DEDICATED)

(SERVICE_NAME = SOL.world)

That's why I asked maybe recreating the tnsnames.ora file

This is different to the one you pasted earlier ?

But if this is the current one, the port on this is 1521 but the listener your pasted earlier has port 1527 ?

Make sure your current listener and tnsnames are running the same port.

Can you not start the server ?

Start Oracle and test R3trans -x after you change to SOL.WORLD

If you are Basis Junior get your senior to check...

Do one thing copy the same thing in your listener.ora and tnsnames.ora file change SID to SOL & in the hostname enter your system hostname . Before changing this stop all services related to oracle.

Was this machine working before? What did you do prior to this problem?

Yes. It was work before crash. Server was restarted 3 to 4times because of UPS failure. and i tried to install SAP router. after that server not started. Pls advice me

So you tried to change you tnsnames.ora according to the previous poster, restarted the listener and tried to start the system again?

Without having system access it's very tedious to give suggestions. I would open an OSS call.

The dispatcher log file is showing that the dispatcher died, because all work processes have died.

Now you will have to find out why the work processes died. For this check their log files, for example dev_w0.
