Central SLD

Hi All,

what is meaning of central sld in XI? i am not having the authorization for SLD that's why i have ask for basis team to give me access,but they told we are using central SLD........

Hi Gangadhar,

we have dev, qa and produciton environments, so instead of maintaining the 3 SLDs for dev, QA and prod they will generally maintain the 2 SLDs. One separate SLD for production and One SLD for both dev and QA.

Maintaining the SLD for dev and QA (more than one land scape) is called as Central SLD.

Hi,

Central SLD might mean that they are using the same SLD for Dev, Quality and production and if u have Solution manager and other netweaver products they might be using the same SLD...

Generally the production SLD is kept seperate to reduce the chances of system going down but in your case all the boxes must be refering to the same SLD.

In short, Central SLD means DEV,QUA and PROD all 3 environments are in one landscape....you can use decentral SLD also..i.e. one SLD for each, in tht case performance will be much better but cost will be higher for integration and maintanence....
