Hello,

We are installing Netweaver 7 Java on Windows+Oracle.

I just installed the Oracle software and Patch 10.2.0.4, as a pre-requisite for SAPinst.

But I am unable to find the Oracle services.

Would the oracle services be installed by SAPinst?

When you install database instance via sapinst, that time, oracle services would get created.

Thanks,

Hello,

I am installing Oracle using the Oracle command file sapserver.cmd

(RDBMS DVD\NT\AMD64\sapserver.cmd)

But it wont start.

In the sapserver.cmd file I see that it needs the following -

@set oracle_home=

@set tns_admin=

@set JAVA_HOME=

@set ORACLE_SID=

But these parameters would be set after I install Oracle.

So, how do I install Oracle using sapserver.cmd?

Hi,

Just double click the sapserver.cmd. It will open the DOS prompt and ask you to provide the SID of the server. Once you provide the input it will create the above envroinment variables automatically.

Procedure.

1. Install the Oracle software using sapserver.cmd

2. Apply the patch using setup.exe on the patch directory.

3. Install the SAP using the SAPinst.

JP.

Hi,

if you are installing oracle through sapserver.cmd, It will ask oracle sid then you have to give that sid. After installation you check the environment variable ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, JAVA_HOME. If these variables are not set, by manually u can set these variables.

Gautam,

I hope the Oracle CDs you have copied to local disk.

Check do you have local admin access on the server where you install the Oracle.

As other people have said, when you doube click server.cmd, you will see DOS window to give SID and location to install.

All the best,
