In VC 6.0 there is no provision for the user to write any code in VC apart from dynamic expression. You'll have to link to corresponding elements and the event handling will be done automatically.
Go through these links and you'll get an idea how buttons get created automatically. You can even create your own buttons and can link to any other UI Elements.
