Mapping String to String

Hi ALL,

How can we map string of same structure to another string? Do we need to map each field?

Please advice.

If it is a field mapping you have to map each source field to target field.

or

If you are talking about the segment mapping and if both the source and target structures are same, then in message mapping there is an option to map all the fields(the fields with identical name swill get mapped automatically)

In Message mapping you can find a icon for Map Selected Fields and Substructures if Names Are Identical.

If substructures are the same both in source and target message, then you can select both and click the appropriate button in message mapping editor (usually second button from the left just below the tabs for design, test and messages.

First question is not clear.

Do we need to map each field?

All mandatory fields need to be mapped, also fields having max occurrence should be mapped.
