If I have webservices in ECC and want to consume a webservice in another system like FEDEX. Do I have to use PI as a broker? Or can I go point to point (i.e. ECC to FEDEX etc etc).
Can anyone provide insight into this design and what if I am forced to use PI? How can I use PI as a pass through?
Thanks
Weyland Y
Hi,
you can use both option:
Point to point = when there is no trasformation i.e. changing format required then webservices from your ECC can be consumed by FEDEX.
Use of PI: if there is transformation and reliable messaging issue then you can use PI, in this case PI will work as a broker between ERP and FEDEX system and make them understand each others message format.
Another advantage of PI is centralized monitoring facility.
