Distribution Models in Mobile 7.1

Can anybody explain how assigning data to mobile devices using distribution model helps in Mobile 7.1 if compared to MI 2.5.

In MI 2.5/ MAU 1.0 , a workcenter is assigned manually to the notification in backend. and that is it.When the mobile user triggers sync from device, he gets the notification.

From what I have gathered in 7.1 ,there are distribution models in DOE with data objects, where rules can be assigned with device attributes and data object values in DOE. Is it like the data comes to DOE from backend as we have only backend driven data objects and once it reaches the DOE, distribution model kicks in and distributes the data to device queues.

Do we have timed 2way data objects in Mobile 7.1. If yes how are distribution models created and used for them.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Amandeep,

You can refer to following BLOGs for info regarding distribution model capabilities

1. /people/pradeepkumar.warrier/blog/2009/09/09/distribution-modeling-in-data-orchestration-engine--1

2. /people/pradeepkumar.warrier/blog/2009/09/22/distribution-modeling-in-data-orchestration-engine--2

regarding two-way data objects that can be created only thru migrating syncbo's but we would suggest you to create standard data objects

You can have bidirectional objects, and DOE will distribute an instance coming from a device to other devices that are subscribing to it.

+ DOE will also communicate updates to BE also.
