Linking of SRM and MM module

Hi Gurus,

Please help me in understanding the SRM module and its linkage with MM module?

Is the SRM is part of SAR ECC 6.0 or it is a different tool?

Please help me in understanding its linkage?

Hi Verma,

SRM is a Netweaver component used for Procurement, Sourcing and Strategic Sourcing. This has all the Purchasing functionalities of MM module except Inventory Management and a little more.

SRM needs a FI system in the backend as Accounting is not supported in SRM.

This is not part of ECC but a separate component which needs to be connected to ECC as a logical system.

Master data needs to be replicated from ECC to SRM system. Plants. Vendors, Material groups, Materials and other master data needs to be transferred from ECC to SRM.

However SRM can be used as a stand alone system with FI backend.

SRM has Self service procurement, Sourcing, Strategic Sourcing (Bidding and Live Auction) and Contract and Catalog content Management.
