Pro Forma Invoice

Hi,

Pro forma invoices can be generated with reference to sales order or outbound delivery. SAP has given option to create as many pro forma invoices as you can for a sales order or deliveries.

I want to know what config settings system would consider to generate N number of pro forma invoices.

Thanks.

Hi

Yes as per the standard SAP you can generate as many as Performa Invoice as you require, since Performa Invoice do not have any impact on FI.

However if you want the system to restrict the creation of Performa Invoice, means if you want to create only one Performa Invoice against an Order or Delivery, then in Copy Control use 311 as Copying Requirement at Item level.

Hi

Especially, the "Positive/Negative quantity" field in copy control at Item level is important for thsi purpose.

For example, copy control for LF to F8 (in t.code VTFL) , go to item level for your Item category. Here you will find "Positive/Negative quantity" field , which is a disable field as well as blank.

SAP has made it disable, so that by mistake also you can not enter any value in this field. From this field status updation in quantity of the reference document takes place.

As beacuse it is blank, no updation takes place in the reference document even if you will create N numbers of Proforma Invoices.

At this same time, this field has been made disable by SAP, so that you will not be able to enter any value in this field, which is logical also as Proforma Invoice is a dummy Invoice.
