use of header and footer area in alv table

What is the use of Header and Footer Area (Top of List & End of List ) in ALV table. Can any one explain me..

In the below link there is an example for creating top of list end end of list.. in this the header and footer are displayed outside the ALV table.. My question is what is the use of the header and footer even I can use UI's to display the header and footer...

You can have the titile of the alv table in the header section and in footer you can have the option for paginator area or totals..

some text on footer area..

Whne you instantiate teh ALV you wil get the model reference right cl_salv_wD_config_table in this if_salv_wd_table_settings~create_header to set teh alv table header that returns type CL_SALV_WD_HEADER.

using this ehader reference use the method SET_TEXT.

Hi,

You can hahve company logos, same header details acrros the item details in header section and page numbers, copyright inf ormation in footer scetion.

It is the same when you use the normal reports....of ALV the usage is same...
