Advantages of XI

Hi,

I am a BW guy. I am trying to integrate BW and source system using XI.I need to know the advantages of XI over the web serices. When the web services can be used to push data into XI, why do we need to go for XI?

Hi,

In how to push xml data to BW document, its given that data can be pushed into BW either using XI or from third party application using Web Services. WHich one is best and why?

Hi,

If you already have a exisiting Web service then you can use that.

It depends on the requirement and functionality provided by web service.

Eg. If you use web services then you have to create a program in BW to call this webservice to receive or send data.

2. The error handling needs to be done in the applciation.

3. Your BW system is open directly to the Third Party providing web service.

1.In XI you can do error handling at the middle ware level.

2.YOu have standard RFC available that can be used directly. The amount of config at BW application level gets reduced.
