Hi,
This is the way to do kernel upgrade.
Stop the system.
Take a backup of current kernel to a different location.(run_old)
Overwrite the current running kernel with the newly downloaded one(unchared files)
Start the system.
Have u performed the above the above steps.
If yes and if you are getting error, try to copy the latest kernel manually to /usr/sap/SID/DV*/exe also.

Dona
you can also update /usr/sap/SID/DVEGMGS00/exe manually.

You can't update a system using kernel 640 with a kernel 710.

Hi,
If you want to go to Kernel 7.10 you will need to do upgrade to your system. You cannot go from 6.40 to 7.0, you could go from 6.10 to 6.40 or from 7.0 to 7.10 but you are mixing versions so that is not supported.
Just download lattest kernel for 6.40 and install it.

SAPEXEDB_304-20000185.SAR
SAPEXE_304-20000182.SAR
i have uncar those files and keep in run folder, and when i check sap* user or ddic,
my old kernel version is same.
there is any other way to kernel update
Dear Kumar
As other folk advised you about the kernel degrade !
Did you degrade the kernel ?
If Yes, are you able to start the stop services ?
what have you checked by the SAP* or DDIC ?
There are two ways are exist for the kernel update 1) uncar kernel file and replace by the newest file 2) use JSPM to update the kernel.

Hello,
Create one folder and copy below files in that.
Uncar all three files (in normal case SAPEXE* files will do, DB Tools can be updated later if required.)
Now stop SAP System.
Stop services.
Take a backup of old kernel (copy old kernel to another location)
Overwrite old kernel with new one, dont just replace.
Once done with this, in cmd give disp+work command, this will show current kernel version.
Restart SAP system.

Abhay
Hi,
Is there a reason you jumped up to such a high kernel....? This is your issue...
Just go for the latest kernel bundle which I think is 304 for 6.40.

Mark
