MDM 7.1 installation with Netweaver 7.0

Hello,

We need to MDM 7.1on Windows+Oracle

I downloaded the Master guide from - https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001668472008E

and the Installation guide - https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001668482008E

But they do not mention clearly about the installation process.

We want MDM 7.1 with Java Application (Point 3.3 (11a-11e) in the MAster guide)

I have some very basic doubts regarding the installation -

1. Do we install a Netweaver Java stack first and take it to SP 15 first (before installating MDM 7.1 server)?

2. Or do we install MDM 7.1 server first?

If we need to install MDM 7.1 server first, then we would have to build the database separately, right?

What all steps in building the database separately?

And will the Netweaver Java use the same database as the MDM server or will it use a different database?

Could you please clear these basic doubts for me.

I have searched everywhere and couldn't find answers to these.

Thanks.

Hello,

I have installed MDM only once, here is how i did it

we have a distributed installation ( ie: DB and application of different box )

I have created the DB on the DB box, ( just created a new DB), our MDM consultant the rest of the Data loading stuff.

MDM installation is some think like, MS office installation. just next -> next installation. There is no DB required at the time of installation.

We need to install, MDM server, MDM Import server and MDM syndication server.

Regards

Jose

Just two points:

- there is a separate forum for MDM issues, i don't think you will find a lot of mdm knowledge here ->

- I have no MDM 7.1 experience, but the MDM 5.5 i installed was with database seperately, but as i see the procedure for 7.1 is completely different. So i cannot help you there, sorry.

But if nobody else here knows, try the MDM forum.

Cheers Michael
