Installation doubts of MDM 7.1

Hello,

We want to install MDM 7.1on Windows+Oracle

I downloaded the installation guide from https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/installMDM71

Doubts:

1. While trying to download the installation media, I can only find SAP MDM CATALOG MGMT and SRM-MDM CATALOG

These are version 2.0 and 3.0. I am unable to find MDM 7.1 installation media.

2. The installation guide doesn't contain anaything about the database installation and configuration. It directly assumes that databse is created. But usually, sapinst creates the database (sapdata1, sapdata2, etc.).

3. Do we need to install SAP Netweaver AS Java for MDM 7.1? If so, which usage types are required?

hi Gautam,

The oracle DB installation is like do it normally. Refer to page no. 45 in the installtion guide.

It gives you details about Oracle configuration.

There is nothing like sapdata1, sapdata2... if you have a stand alone MDM system.

All the MDM related data files will be stored in the /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/MDS<No> directory

NW AS Java is not required for a standalone MDM installation.

1) I suppose you licence agreement with SAP is finished

2) information about database installation you can get from "Installation guide" item 4.4 pages 44-58
