Sapinst - Homogeneus SysteCopy - Phase: Backup/Restore database

Hi,

I'm doing a Homogeneus Systemcopy on Windows 2003 Server x64, the sapinst ha ha Nw version 7.01. During Backup / Restore Database me stops with the error listed below. I noticed that the service "OracleBP4102iSQL * Plus - isql * Plus Application Server" on the Oracle DB 10.2 .. remains instat starting. I tried to restart The installation. Take over the start but the problem remains.

Im having an issue with an installation. NW 7.31 / linux /oracle

on "install common system files for diagnostic agent" phase, the installations stop with the following errors:

Yeah as said by Andreas just edit the keydb.xml file (Windows) and you can continue with the installation.. You are quite not solving the issue but just bypassing it..

Mauruzio's solution worked for me

(I was having the same problem on a Windows 2003 / Oracle 10.2.0.4 / Netweaver 7.11 system copy refresh - Copying the Database Only - Refresh (homogeneous system copy (backup/restore).

However, besides editing the control.xml as he suggested, I also had to also update the keydb.xml. If fact, before I even got this far, I had to deal with an earlier error. Below is a summary of the 2 different errors

and the actions taken which were based on actions others in this thread and other SDN threads took.

First error I hit was "The DB Home folder d:\oracle\QSB\102 has not the correct DB Server version 102". Thing is, that home DID have the correct version and I did do the db install using sapserver.cmd

I edited the control.xml

u2022 Open C:\program files\sapinst_instdir\ce71_prod_ora\lm\ora\copy\import\std\db_refresh\control.xml using wordpad

u2022 Search for this ("NWDBora.validateDbHome(numRows: "

u2022 Change the word u201Cfalseu201D to u201Ctrueu201D on the line immediately following the line your search found

i. i.e. change -> var rc = ( num == 1 ? true : false);

ii. to var rc = ( num == 1 ? true : true);

u2022 Now click ok on the Input Error window.

u2022 Click cancel to stop the installer, confirm and restart it using 'Contine witgh the Old Option"

Second error I then hit was "...rowPar has not properties...DbRefresh....."

I edited the control.xml using Mauruzio's solution...

From the error message we found that the function getRowDbPar() in control.xml does not return a value/pointer.

So we just replaced the lines with fixed values instead of the broken calls.

Here are the differences, just search for rowPar to find them in control.xml.

I opened a message at SAP. Answer: it is a bug in the installer (only with Oracle DB). Here the exact feedback from SAP:

I checked the log. The issue you are facing is know, but not yet

documented since it arised few times and recently.

This is an error in sapinst on windows while copying java systems with

OBR.

This step, that fault on error, will only create the oracle instance

with oradim so we can do it manuall:

this will create the oracle instance.

Remark from my side:

this works fine for me but first I had to delete the created db (search in google for the syntax oradim deleteinstance ! Don't get confused: the instance is new created although this is a system copy. This is very confusing in my eyes.

Please push feedback here if there's still something not working.

Please reproduce error and post more logs from that time.
