Installation Error

Hi,

I tried searching for the error message. But could not find any.

My machine satisfies the system requirements for Netweaver Installation. But I still face an issue while installing. This happens in the first step itself.

I tried to run C:\SAPNW2004sSneakPreviewABAP\Installation_Master\SAPinst

I am getting the following error message:

"Windows cannot find 'sapinst'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button and click search"

It would be of great help, if some one can help me out.

I am not sure whether the installation directory should be in some specific place.

you can find under SAPINST\NT\I386

Hi mary,

i think u are trying to open it from wrong location. try to open it from C:\SAPNW2004sSneakPreviewABAP\Installation_Master\IM_WINDOWS_I386\SAPinst.exe

may be it helps.

Mary,

SAPINST is used for installing SAP components and products. The directory you are pointing the installation program to is looking for the program 'sapinst'. Without this you will not be complete the installation successfully.

Search for "sapinst.exe" and then run this program.
