Import Java Dump is taking huge time

Former Member

Hi everyone,

I am installaing ECC6.0(JAVA + ABAP) on HP UNIX. I am stuck on the 19th Phase (Import Java Dump ). Its running since last 10-12 hours. We tried to check the logs but it seems that the logs will only be populated once the installation completes this phase or it gives any error. Side by side we are monitoring the processes getting consumed by the system and it shows the phase is going on.

Please advice what else should i do.

Regards,

Avneesh

Heyy Mark,

Its 12 Gb.

Mark just wanted to know does it happen that the installation gets stuck sometimes and do not shows any error message , i mean have you ever seen case like this or is this the probably server issue that the server is not having much resources.

Java uses 100 % CPU where 54 % is user CPU and the rest is system cpu.

Is the dump located locally or is on an NFS drive?

What Java version are you using?

Hi Markus.

We are using HP UX hotspot JAVA 1.4.2.23 . JAVA dump is mounted in a folder . We are not getting any error .

Java software we are using are "sdk14_14223_ia.depot " .

Thanks,

So "mounted" means it's NFS?

You don't need to get an error, importing Java dumps on an NFS mounted filesystem is pretty slow (latency). There's not much you can do about that but copy the dump locally.
