Varaint Configuration Vs APO PPDS Characteristic based Planning

Hello All,

I am new to Variant config in ECC; I worked a lot with the APO PPDS characterists based planning;

One of my clients is looking at exploring Make to Stock planning only using the functionality available in ECC system without using APO functionality.

Is there anything that we cannot achieve with VC in ECC that we can achieve with APO CBP?

This client has about 10 BOM Levels in their product hierarchy.

Please post your opinions.

What are the specific reasons why a customer should look at using APO PPDS CDP Vs just variant configuration in ECC?

Hi,

Characteristic propagation is only APO CDP functionality.
