difference between Auction and reverse auctioning

What is the basic difference between Autioning and revese auctioning in SRM?

Usually term Auction is used while selling some thing and Reverse auction while buying .... SRM uses reverse auction principle.

Hi Expert,

1.We have requirment on Auction process via webshop , if anybody has related configuration documnets , plz share the knowledge.

2.http://IP:PORT/shopadmin/hopadmin/init.do, while connecting the above mentioned link , we are getting Runtime Error , message says "contact Administrator.

Plz guide us with expert knowledge.

seems you want to know SRM capabilities for Forward auction & reverse auction.

Though SRM 7.0 offers more types in reverse auction ,it is not capable of Forward auction.

SAP CRM is capable for Forward auction.

In forward auction you can sell goods & services to customers.

Often customers ask forward auction facility in SRM for stuff like selling old stock , scrap to vendors .. but it's not possible.

you mean whenever any one refer autioning in SRM, it should be understood that its revese auctioning only. isn't it ?
