Cost Centre

Hi Folks

We can assign a cost centre to the Position when we creating a Position.

The scenario is i had run the Hiring Action by using the Position which has not been assigned with the Cost Center.

In IT0001 the Cost Centre Column is Greyed with no values. So now i cannot edit anything.

Due to this i am getting an error when running the Payroll and also during Posting to Accounting.

Now How to Assign the Cost to the Appropriate Position?

Hi Ragav,

Goto Tcode PPOM_OLD, select your org. unit and click on staff assignments. Right click on the position for which you need to assign cost center and select create assignment. Now select the cost center you need from the drop down.

I have done as per your instructions.

I have assigned the cost center to the appropriate position in PPOM_OLD through create assignment.

But the problem is if i come and see in the IT0001 in PA30 the cost center column does not have any value and it is asusual greyed.

How to get the value there?

Hi Ragav,

Go to T. Code PPOME.

Select the required position.

Select the Account Assignment Tab.

Click on the "Replace" icon beside the Cost Center field.

Enter the cost center.

I guess you have proceeded like this:

>>In PPOM_OLD, select your org. unit,

>>Place the cursor on superior level org. unit(O) and click on staff assignments

>>Place the cursor on the required position(S).

>>In the menu, >goto>account assignment

>>Right click on the position(S) and select create assignment.

>>select the desired cost center.

Now goto PA30 again to IT0001,the existing record will be delimited and a new record will be created with the updated cost center.

switch off the integration between PA and OM

in T77s0 (ther plogi-orga )...and it will work..

I have tried all the methods(PPOM_OLD, PPOME) to assign the Cost centre to the Position.

But even after assigning the Centre to the Appropriate Position the column Cost centre in IT0001 is not getting filled. Still grey.

I have one more clue.

With the Help of Abap consultant i am uploading data through BDC.

All the BDC Master data do not have Person as holder in PPOM. Only position, job and cost centre are there. I think that is the basic problem for all.

How to get the Holder(Person) in PPOM??

Hi Ragav,

For getting the holder in PPOM.

Goto PPOM_OLD, right click on the position and select assign holder.

You can assign holders through IT0000 also. Ensure that OM and PA are integrated. IN table t77s0, PLOGI-ORGA should have a value 'X'.

Unfortunately i could not able to solve the issue. I got some clue relating to this issue and posted an another query.

I am hoping to get the positive solution for this which may solve the root issue.

I have done as you have said.

I have checked the OF in the cost center field.

When i gone in to IT0001 in change mode for the existing employees, it is coming in grey and i could not enter/pick up any value for the field
