release request containing inactive object

Former Member

Hi all,

I have reset some SAP notes (obsolete) during modification adjustment (and assigned it to a change request).

Now while applying another SP (SAP_APPL), SPAM is prompting to release that transport request.

Since previous import has been confirmed, this old object is inactive and hence transport request can not be released.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this deadlock?

I don't believe deletion of transport request is a good idea.

On the other hand, if I activate the object, release request then deactivate it back, I wouldn't know what are dependencies of activating the same.

Regards,

Praveen

Hi Satish:

What kind of message are preventing you from applying the SP ?

Test Import face is failing with Object Locked ?

If that is the case, you can unlock the object using SE03.

Hello Satish,

You can resolve this issue in 2 ways:

1. Go to SE03 and then you use the unlock object option.

Here make sure you are unlocking both the request as well as the task in it.

2. You can also release the transport request locally i.e without a target. You need to simply remove the target through SE01. The objects will be unlocked once the TR is released and also won't move to the next system.

Hope this would solve the issue.

Please award points accordingly.

With Regards.

Ruchit.

I had the same problem whilst upgrading a few weeks ago.

Release the transport and reimport package.
