ppds external operation

Dear Friends,

In our scenario, we are mentioning control key pp02 in routing for external operation. this facilitates APO to schedule external operation. we are mentioning the value of pp02 in routing as 5 days.that is the time taken to process the external operation.

now the problem is, APo is considering 5 days only if the external operation is after first operation. but if i make the first operation as external operation then it is multiplying the no. of days we define into 4 times. that is for 5 days it is scheduling for 20 days. So is there any setting.

Hi Vinay,

In ECC or R/3 external operations can be scheduled in two ways

1. Considering work center formula and standarad values in operation.(same as for internal operation)

2. considering planned delivery time mentioned in info record for operation or planned delivery time specified in external operation.

If check box schedule external operation in control key parameters is checked then it schedules just like inhouse as mentioned in point 1 . if it is Unchecked then it schedules considering planned delivery time as in point2.

In PP02 this check box is not checked hence it may be planning considering planned delivery time. Still I could not get why it is behaving differently when operation is positioned as first and as third.

I have never planned such products in APO. We are planning such products in R/3 only . But may be this check box has some integration while transfering PPM/PDS to APO. you can check with this setting.
