Monitoring of errors in R/3-XI-SRM SUS

Former Member

Hello Guys,

Right now I am implementing end to end scenario, R/3 (IDOC) -> XI -> SRM SUS (Proxy).

I am using standard contents provided by SAP for XI.

Now for Monitoring i need some automatic michanism for R/3 as well as SUS.

In XI we have alert monitoring, which we can use if something is failing in XI.

But suppose while sending IDOC from R/3 to XI, IDOC fails in R/3 itself, then how can we notify some responsible person for the same?

Same in SUS, if we are sending something from SUS -> XI -> R/3, and if something fails in SUS (Proxy) while sending data to XI, how can we notify some person, that message is failed in SUS.

Thanks in advance.

Hetal

Hi,

Other that message failure in SXMB_Moni, there are chances to get stuck in queues i.e. SM58, SMQ1 & SMQ2.

You can also create alerts for this queue error. To do so refer my below blog's.

Thanks Santosh.

But my main concern is to get some alerts from R/3 and from SUS.

Can you provide me some solution for that?

Can I use same SM58 solution for R/3 system which is there in your Blog for XI/PI?

Thanks,

Hetal

Hi,

SM58 in source system does come into play when you send IDoc. Similarly SMQ1 and SMQ2 is also involved in proxy messages. this report & alerts can not only configured in PI but also on the source/target systems.

Hello All,

Can alertmonitoring in XI can be configured for the errors coming because of messages stucked in SM58 (for IDOC) or SMQ1, SMQ2?

I mean can it be configured for the messages stucked on abap stack.

I know we can do this for the error messages for Adapter engine but what abt ABAP engine?

Please reply to me as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Hetal

You can try configuring CCMS alerts.....they will cover your entire landscape (alongwith PI)

Thanks Santosh.

But my question is if i want to monitor R/3, XI and SRM system, then just configuring CCMS on XI will be sufficiant?

Thanks,

Hi,

When You send Data to PI system from R/3 System In in case if the data has not reached PI and if ther is any problem during the sending of data from R/3 ,You need not worry.

When u Trigger an Idoc from R/3 System and in case if it fails During sending, It will raise an Error saying "Standard Outbound Processing to PI Failed".

This presentation will give you an overview of whether CCMS will really help you (yes it will...giving the link for confirmation)

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/2bc02d89-0901-0010-be9c-9c038d739e60&override...

May be if you search on SDN you will get more accurate details:

http://forumsa.sdn.sap.com/search.jspa?threadID=&q=%22CCMS%22&objID=f44&dateRange=all&numResults=15&...

CCMS is free....and comes alongwith SAP....so no need to worry about any installation charges or something alike

Thanks Abhishek.

That answer is really good.

But if suppose we dont have CCMS in place, then how the monitoring is possible?

I have refered Santosh's blog for creating report for SMQ1, SMQ2 and SM58.

Here he says that configuration for alerts is also required.

Just wanted to know, what all the basis efforts will be required in case of this solution?

If we have CCMS then what all the efforts from basis is required, and what all the efforts from developer is expected.

Can you please help in this?

Please let me know if the requirement is not clear.

Thanks,

Hetal
