SAP ECC-5.0 on Linux -32 Bit

Hello All,

We are trying to install ECC-5.0 SR1 on Linux 32 Bit Machine

We have install Java SDK jdk-6u17-linux-i586-rpm.bin, 4 GB swap

When we try to run SAPinst SDT GUI screen comes up as hostname - localhost, Port # - 21212

Screen Hungs up there.

can some body guide me problem, why we are not getting the SAPINST proper screen !

Can you guide where I am going to get java sdk rpm

If you are going for the 32bit option you can download the appropriate JDK from the Sun website. Look out for the "Previous Releases" link. Then get the appropriate 1.4.2 package.

But as Markus said that's not advisable. Go for 64bit if possible.

In that case you'll have to get the JDK from IBM:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux/download.html

32bit is deprecated, I'd use 64bit whenver possible.

Please read the installation guide.

- Java 1.6 is not supported (you need Java 1.4.2)

- you need much more swap
