sap installation

Hi ,

I bought new laptop 500gb hard disk and 4 gb ram with 64 bit.it is with windows 7.0 .can i install ecc 6.0 on this windows 7 or else i need to add windows 2003 server to install sap .

One more question will windows 7 works only as operating system or server?

Hi Vikky,

Windows 7.0 ; is a home edition. It wont support SAP. SAP may install successfully in this windows 7.0, but we will have so many issues with database and SAP screens. These home editions are not capable enough to run SAP server like windows 2003. Better, install SAP with Win2003.

You need to install Windows 2003 Server since ECC6 expects Server Components.
