Hi,
I would like to know if there is a backup mode concept in MaxDB, like it exists in Oracle?
Can you please givemore details about this? Or where I can find more information about this topic?
Thank you,
manoliv
Hi Manuela,

Do you mean that "begin/end backup" crap, called "user managed backup"?
Thank god, MaxDB does not have this, but has the option to take real backups only (like RMAN).

You may want to check these two of my blog series "Mind the gap":
['Mind the gap...' (#3 - Backup/Restore - Part 1)|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/10093] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];
['Mind the gap...' (#3 - Backup/Restore - Part 2)|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/11103] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];
And in general: check the documentation! http://maxdb.sap.com/documentation.

Lars
