Hi Experts
We have separate system SM, I need to configure EWA and Service Desk for SM system itself.
When I tried in transaction SMSY to insert this system in Solution, the following message appeared:
"Function is only possible for logical system".
Then I created logical system and assigned it to a client in the client maintenance (scc4).
But it failed again and the message continued to appear.
Why does this message appear and is it possible to configure SM for monitoring itself.
Hi
The problem still exists.
The message continues to appear.
Maybe I've done something wrong. I'll try to desribe all that I have done step by step.
1. tr. SALE>Sending and Receiving Systems>Logical Systems-->Define Logical System(create new logical system)
after creating logical system-->Assign Client to Logical System.
2. Tr. DSWP -> create new Solution.
3. Tr. SMSY
- create new server SL0
- create new database SL0
- create new system SL0
- generate for this system RFC destination:
SM_SL0CLNT001_READ
SM_SL0CLNT001_TMW
SM_SL0CLNT001_TRUSTED
SM_SL0CLNT001_BACK
- Create new logical component:
Logical Component-ZSOLUTION MANAGER
Product SAP-SOLUTION MANAGER
Product Version-SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 4.0
Main Instnce-SAP SOLUTION MANAGER
- Assign system SL0 to Logical Component.
Then in transaction SMSY select System Groups and Logical Components then expand Solution Landscapes u2013 Operation and append this logical component to newly created Solution Landscape.
And when i try to Activate/Enable the system into the Landscape the message appears:
Function is only possible for logical system
Message no. DSWP118
P.S: And the same message appears with another system (SAP R/3 system).

Hi
Yes it is possible
but you need to create a logical component which is created using SMSY
go there add system and generated RFC etc for respective clients
and then in the solution add this logical component and proceed further
hope it clarifies and solve ur prob
