Hi,
I have configured business process monitoring for our production system but now need to add our test system into the solution and monitor the test system as well to do some testing.
When I go to Solution Landscape Maintenance both clients from two different systems are included in the solution but when I go to "Setup Business Process Monitoring" only the production one is listed under Logical Components tab.
Sorry I am very new at this but how can I get the business monitoring to work for both systems?
Thank you,
Sergiy
Hi Sergiy
If you go to the business process overview
(DSWP=>Solution Landscape Maintenance=>
Business Scenarios=>your scenario =>
Business Process), you can see related logical
component. I guess at the moment, each business process
step is defined for production system, so I guess
you do not see your test system in BPMon setup area.
Do you also define business process for test system ?
If not please setup business process for test system.
How to do
(1)
You can copy current business process and create business
process for test system and just change logical component.
(2)
Insteaf of using 1 solution, create another solution for test
system (you cna also copy the solution for production scenario)
and create new solution for test purpose.

Thanks Keiji,
I thought maybe I was doing something wrong since my logical component has both systems, test and production in there and then it is also defined in the business process in DSWP=>Solution Landscape Maintenance=>Business Scenarios=>Sales =>
Business Process>Order to Cash but only the production client and system appear in "Setup Business Process Monitoring".
Also on the very first node in DSW>Solution Landscape Maintenance both Production client and test client are highlighted in green which means they are 'In Solution" in System Group tab.
Anyway, I did make a copy of the solution and it does work to monitor two systems by having two different solutions, but I still can't seem to put another system in the same solution and make it work.
Do I have to have two logical components if I wanted to monitor two systems in one solution, one logical component with production and one with test?
Hi Sergiy
Yes you have to use 2 logical component to monitor 2 different system.
Logical component consit of system+client.
So for example, you want to monitor cleint 100&200, then you need to
define 2 different logical component for client 100 and 200.
Same things also apply. If you want to monitor same business process
in different system.
So create logical component 1 for your production system.
And create logical component 2 for your test system.
Then create 2 business process (exactly same).
Business Process: order to cash.
1.Business process step : create sales order (T-CD VA01) <Logical component1>
2.Business Process step : create delivery (T-CD VL01)<Logical component1>
Business Process: order to cash (test).
1.Business process step : create sales order (T-CD VA01) <Logical component2>
2.Business Process step : create delivery (T-CD VL01)<Logical component2>
Then you can monitor business process order to cash in 1 solution.
But I think it is better to create 2 different solutions since operator
might not want to see business process for test system in BPMon.
Best Regards
Keiji
One additional remoark. Instead of using two logical components in ONE solution it is recommended to use TWO solutions with the same logical component. The one solution has leading role PRODUCTION the other solution has leading role TEST. Then you can re-use the same processes and the same log comp but keep PRD and TEST seperate.
