kernal upgradation issue

Hi,

I tried to kernal upgrade in one of server for consistency kernal form pacakge level 75 to package level 95.But it is not going to upgraded it is in same package level.

i tried with below steps please let me if iam doing some thing wrong.

www.service.sap.comdownloadssupport package and patches entry by application groupadditinal componentsapkenal-sapkenal 7.00

After that i downloaded the all the components in download manager and i uncar it then i stop sap sytem,database,services and i copied the executables to kernal directory.

after that when i login and check the package level it is showing 75 only.

Please check if you have a folder like

Drive:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\uc\<OS_Architechtur> OS_Architecreu could be NTIA64, NTAMD64 etc

Keep SAP and Database down, stop all the services related to SAP and Oracle from windows ( type services.msc in run)

Extract and replace all the executables from SAPEXE( database independent) and SAPEXEDB( database dependent)

Keep all the dialog instance down during upgrade.

After replacing you can check the current patch level by entering "disp+work" in the command prompt of your SIDADM user

after uncar this files i get excutables and SAPEXEDB_102-20000974 like files.

i copied it into those files and SAPEXEDB_102-20000974 executables in kernal directory.

Where is the database independent part? For release 700 , I am not getting any kernel with patch level 95

Minimum is SAPEXE_114-20001351.SAR Kernel Part I (for Basis 7.00)

I think , you are not downloading right kernel.

What is the architecture of your system? IA64, IA32, ? X86? Unicode? Please choose right component,.

You have to download both SAPEXE ( for SAP executable) and SAPEXEDB ( for database executable)

You uncar all the above SAR files ?

SAPEXEDB_221-20000974.SAR means this is kernel part2 of 221patch ( no need to uncar all above SAR files)

For example,If you want to update 221 patch, you need to download SAPEXEDB_221-20000974.SAR (part 2 - Database depedent) and SAPEXE_221-20000974.SAR (Part1- Database independent) These two SAR files are enough to update the kernel.

I dont think so you are downloading correct SAR files.

main is IA32 Architecture and unicode system. As per checks i have not found package level 95.

After that, you need to download both part1 and part2.( Database dependent and independent)

both were downloaded?

(Apart from kernel Part1 and Part2, its recommended to download the latest versions of tp, r3trans etc,. To udate the kernel version, Part1 and Part2 are enough)
