Upgrading from 5.2 to 5.3

Hi,

I am looking at upgrading GRC from version 5.2 SP4 to 5.3 SP9. In relation to Access Enforcer, I see that it must be uninstalled and then 5.3 version installed. Will this mean that I would lose all existing configuration e.g. workflows, connectors? And will I lose existing request data?

Thanks,

Gary

I have done a few upgrades, and if you follow the upgrade guides you should be fine.

You will have to do a few adjustments in ABAP and Java to pick up the new functionality, but it can be done in less than a day if you know what you're doing

Hi Gary,

Did you upgrade from GRC 5.2 to GRC 5.3? Did it go well?

Did you have to re-upload the ruleset into RAR 5.3? or reconfigure the settings for RAR 5.3?

I appreciate your input.

Thanks,

Lynn

No, Gary. You won't lose any of the configuration settings or data. This will just uninstall the application but will not remove any of the data from the database. Once you are done with the upgrade, you will be able to see all of your settings and data. Make sure to take a back-up before you start upgrade process.
